The current leader of Faso left Ouagadougou on Saturday for a visit to his Malian counterpart, Colonel Assimi Goïta.
His plane landed at Modibo Keita International Airport in Bamako around 3 p.m. local time.
A diplomatic mission to convince all the neighbors of Burkina Faso to meet around the same table to define a common strategy for the fight against jihadist, according to a source close to the Burkinabe presidency.

The Burkinabè head of state was welcomed with all the honors due to his rank: red carpet, fanfare, guard of honor and a great popular mobilization along the arteries to the Koulouba palace, according to a source on site at Bamako.

Part of this delegation in Bamako, several military leaders, including Lieutenant-Colonel Yves Didier Bamouni, the commander of operations of the national theater.
It is he who coordinates the fight against terrorism.
Also present in Bamako: Lieutenant-Colonel Mahamadi Bonkoungou, the head of intelligence in Burkina.
After the airport, the two Heads of State met one-on-one, before the meeting was extended to members of the delegations.
Military cooperation is the main subject on the menu of this visit.
