Russia's Gazprom said it will increase its gas shipments to Europe via Ukraine, media reports said.

The news comes hours after the Russian monopolist announced it could not re-establish flows through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany as planned after a three-day maintenance break.

According to international media reports, the Russian giant said it will ship 42.7 million cubic meters of natural gas today through the Ukrainian entry point of Sudzha.

This is a slight increase from the 41.3 million cubic meters sent yesterday, in these terms not enough to compensate for the missing gas that should have been pumped through the pipeline to Germany.
