He cited as an example the results of polls that show low trust ratings for the three branches of government: 25% for the Supreme Court, 23% for the President and 7% for Congress.

The journalist also listed three signs of a "banana republic": language manipulation and a "cult of the left eye", political persecution and "electoral legitimacy", as well as "forcing citizens to consent" and increased dependence on the government.
