Unusually for many cancer patients, who despair as soon as they learn that they have the disease, the citizen Sumaya Saif Al Kaabi had another position, which ended with her victory over the disease, and the launch of an initiative to instill hope in the hearts of those affected by the malignant disease, which she called “a dose of happiness.”

Somaya's battle with breast cancer began two years ago, when she felt strange symptoms, and later tests confirmed that she had breast cancer, so she began her battle with the disease with determination and determination until she was able to control it completely and recover completely.

(Sumaya) told "Emirates Today" that since the beginning of her illness, she accepted the matter with open arms without fear or dismay, and even launched the "dose of happiness" initiative to provide psychological and material support to cancer patients, through which she was keen to visit patients while receiving treatment doses, and presenting flowers And gifts and sweets for them and holding parties to make them happy, and support them with positive speech, to motivate them to overcome the disease, as the psychological factor is one of the most important boosters of the immune system.

She stated that the initiative witnessed gatherings of cancer patients of all kinds in public places to exchange talk and psychological support, which had a great positive impact on them, noting that more than 200 patients were included in the initiative.

Al-Kaabi, a wife, mother of three children, and a working woman, confirmed that during her treatment she drew her energy and ability to recover from trying to make others happy and relieve their pain, which enabled her to overcome the disease and help many patients reach advanced stages in the recovery journey.

Al-Kaabi advised women to periodically check for the disease, starting in their twenties, and in the event of the disease, they should start receiving treatment immediately without any delay, and without resorting to any unscientific methods to confront the disease, to prevent their condition from deteriorating.

Yesterday, Sumaya received the "Hope" Award during the third annual conference of the Emirates Cancer Society, which was handed over to her by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, for her role in following up on cancer patients and supporting them psychologically and financially.

Somaya thanked the health authorities in the country for providing medicines, services and qualified medical staff to treat all types of cancer, which made it unnecessary to travel for treatment abroad.
