Stretching the gum "The industry has not opened its doors to us, they just want a piece of the cake without getting wet"
Networks The reason why Victoria Martín, from Stretching the gum, has left Twitter
Carolina Iglesias
and
Victoria Martín
performed this Friday at the Capitol theater, on Gran Vía, in the historic marble building designed by the architects
Luis Martínez-Feduchi
and
Vicente Eced y Eced
.
There was curiosity to know what reception awaited the authors of
Stretching gum
, the
podcast
that, propelled by the brilliance of its creators, surfed the neopuritan climate that devours us until the moralist sharks smelled blood and demanded the sacrifice of their own idols.
There is no such thing as a woke
audience
so that, sooner or later, those who make a living courting it end up on the sacrificial altar themselves.
A few weeks ago, Carolina and Victoria were accused of inviting a very dangerous comedian,
Patricia
Sornosa
,
to
the
program
.
, which is to biology what the horoscope is to particle physics, they have set up with biological sex, gender identity and so on.
Far from breaking their mug for their guest, they backed off.
When shortly after they were accused of racism for a harmless joke, the lynching, discounting the null reading comprehension of their haters, bordered on pure gibberish.
That they weren't
Lenny Bruce
or
Graham Chapman
(Monty Python's Brian) seemed obvious.
But hey, everybody calm down.
The public, their public, received them delighted.
Nothing surprising: those offended generally only shoot online, protected by anonymity.
Far from the buzz of disgust that discharges on Twitter, the comedians were able to dedicate themselves to their show, a performance for two full of nerve, rhythm, irreverence and grace.
Too bad they didn't take advantage of the occasion to hesitate the inquisitors.
Could it be that out there, far from the greenhouse of what is politically correct in its worst sense, from the dogmas sanctified by the allies and from the discourse sponsored by the Ministry of Equality and its 100,000 ideologues and advisers, it is quite cold.
Unlike
Groucho Marx
, who refused to join a club that would accept him as a member, or
Billy Wilder
, who wrote his scripts with a brain full of blades, the authors of
Stretching the Gum
aspire to continue on the sunny side of life.
Where jokes are free because sarcasm lacks risk or poison.
