An American court has revealed some details of the material seized by the

FBI

during the raid on August 8 at the

resort of former President Donald Trump

in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

According to

CNN

, agents collected

33 boxes of documents

including dozens of empty folders marked as classified, more than

11,000 unclassified government documents

, but also

gifts and personal items.

.

Among the material seized there are 3 documents marked as confidential, 17 documents marked as secret, 7 documents marked as top secret, 43 empty folders with "the classified banner" and 28 empty folders with the indication to "return to the personnel secretary or to the military adviser ".

Other empty folders

of the same nature were found by the FBI in a closet.

From the inventory it is not clear why the folders were empty and

what happened to the documents

that were contained within them.

The fear that documents of a confidential and

top secret

nature were not adequately kept in the residence of Mar-a-Lago prompted the

Justice Department

to open a

criminal

investigation , to shed light on why the material was in

Trump's private residence

and on attempts to withhold the documents, despite having been asked for their

full return

.

In fact, after leaving office, the

presidents of the United States

must

transfer all their documents

and emails to

the national archives

These are some of the news that emerged after

Florida judge Aileen Cannon

decided to

make public the inventory

of the material seized by the

Bureau

, which confirms that the classified documents taken by the ex-president were kept in a

disorderly and chaotic

way , including clippings. of newspapers, magazines, books, clothes, gifts.

The Justice Department is considering whether

Trump mishandled the documents

by taking them from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago estate after leaving office in January 2021.
