On Friday, the US Department of Justice revealed new details about documents found by the FBI at the home of former President Donald Trump in Florida last month.

The department said that last August, during a search of Trump's residence, the FBI found empty folders marked as classified, according to the Associated Press.

The ministry published a detailed inventory of the confiscated materials;

It included the contents of 33 boxes found in an office and storage room inside the Trump residence.

The inventory showed that the FBI had found more than 10,000 government records, but did not provide any details about the content of the records.

He indicated that the documents containing confidential information were stored in boxes and containers at home, and were placed among newspapers, magazines, clothes and other personal items, according to the agency.

The department said the Trump residence has no safe place for such sensitive government secrets.

The ministry has opened a criminal investigation into the presence of documents there, and attempts to obstruct investigations during the past months.

The inventory revealed 43 empty folders marked as secret that were found in a box in the office, in addition to 28 empty folders written on them that were returned to the General Staff or the military assistant, which were also found in a closet in the office.

The ministry said that it reviewed the documents and separated confidentiality from them to ensure that they are stored according to appropriate protocols and procedures.

The inventory did not explain why the folders were emptied or what happened to any of the documents inside, and there was no immediate comment from Trump's lawyer about recent developments.

On August 8, FBI agents raided Trump's residence in the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, with judicial permission and with the approval of the Director of the Bureau of Investigation and the Minister of Justice, in search of missing secret government documents that Trump refused to hand over after leaving the White House.

For his part, Trump denied wrongdoing, but he did not provide any credible explanation for why he obtained the documents or did not return them earlier.
