Abdullah bin Zayed chairs the strategic dialogue between the UAE and India

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired the third session of the strategic dialogue between the UAE and India, which was held yesterday in Abu Dhabi.

The Indian side was chaired by the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, Dr. Subramnyam Jay Shankar.

During the strategic dialogue, issues of common interest and prospects for bilateral cooperation were reviewed in light of the comprehensive strategic partnership that brings together the UAE and India. Views were also exchanged on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and India, pointing to the continuous growth and development in the volume of joint cooperation between the two countries at all levels, with the support and care of their leadership.

His Highness stressed that the UAE and India have succeeded in establishing a developed and sustainable model for their strategic relations, which has yielded many qualitative achievements in several sectors, pointing to the two friendly countries' aspiration to strengthen them in a way that serves their common interests and benefits their peoples.

His Highness pointed out the importance of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the Republic of India signed last February, which opened wider horizons for developing and strengthening economic relations in a way that supports sustainable development paths in the two countries.

For his part, Dr. Subramnyam Jay Shankar praised the UAE-India strategic partnership, and the solid historical relations that unite the two countries, their leaders and peoples.

He stressed the keenness to strengthen and develop the Emirati-Indian strategic relations to meet the aspirations of the leaderships of the two friendly countries, pointing out that the achievements made within the framework of their partnership are a source of pride and motivate us to move forward towards more successes in order to achieve the common development goals of the two friendly countries and their peoples.

The work of the strategic dialogue was attended by Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Minister of State, Ahmed bin Ali Muhammad Al-Sayegh, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the State, Dr. Anwar bin Muhammad Gargash, and Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdel Nasser Al-Shaali and the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of India, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Banna, and a number of officials from both sides.
