Expo City Dubai opens the Alef Mobility and Sustainability Pavilions to the public
Today, Expo City Dubai opened two pavilions, "Alef" for mobility and "Terra" for sustainability, in preparation to receive visitors in many distinguished destinations during this month and next October, so that the Expo's charm continues, a global home for creativity, a model for future cities, and an environmentally friendly city supported by technology.
Anousha Al-Marzouqi, Director of the Culture and Education Department at the Dubai Expo City, said in an exclusive statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the Dubai Expo is a destination for innovation, creativity, business and entertainment. Al Wasl Square, Vision Pavilion, Women’s Pavilion, surreal waterfalls, children’s play areas and later this year the Opportunity Pavilion will transform into the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum, a new addition that highlights the history and impact of the World Expo, and celebrates the success of the international event.
She pointed out that the Dubai Expo City is an extension of the legacy of the global event of Expo 2020 Dubai, and through the research we conducted during the period of Expo 2020, we saw more than 96% of visitors to "Terra" Sustainability Pavilion made changes in their personal behavior to preserve the environment and sustainability and move towards a cleaner world Health and that the experience inspired them to change their behavior by rationalizing water consumption and reducing the use of plastic.
In addition, more than 90% of Alef's visitors see that the UAE and the Arab world are an example of progress and prosperity, so our message in the opening of the pavilion is our contribution to the continuation of this legacy and to raising awareness to inspire future generations.
She explained that the "Alef" pavilion explains that mobility is the basis of human progress, as visitors move from the Saruq Al-Hadid site from the past to the golden age in the Arab world, where Arab explorers explored and invented many inventions that still have an impact on our lives and learn about the role of the UAE in transportation and how its contribution to human progress.
Finally, visitors will travel to the future to see how each of us has the choice to create a better future for everyone.
About the "Terra" pavilion, she said, "It is the Sustainability Pavilion that shows us how nature is similar to humans, presents a world-class example of the highest standards and sustainable practices in design and architecture, and encourages visitors to re-evaluate their relationship with the environment on an immersive journey to the bottom of the oceans and the depths of forests."
She confirmed that the Expo City is open to the public, who can visit it and tour its pavilions, explaining that the entry tickets to the pavilions are worth 50 dirhams per pavilion. Entry will be free for the Terra and Alef wings for people of determination and for children aged 12 years or younger. It will also be available in four ticket outlets distributed within the city of Expo Dubai Starting from today.
Visitors can use the services available such as buggies, the Expo Explorer train, electric scooters and electric bikes for a fee.
