This Wednesday, all the members of the government were gathered in the village hall of the Élysée to attend the back-to-school seminar, around Emmanuel Macron and Élisabeth Borne.

At the heart of this meeting, the strategy to be adopted in the coming months, particularly in the face of the energy crisis.

A back-to-school seminar to face the challenges of energy sobriety and the defense of French purchasing power.

The 42 members of the government, i.e. all the ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries of state, spent the day at the Élysée Palace.

Gathered since 10 a.m., they left this meeting around Emmanuel Macron and Élisabeth Borne around 7 p.m.

Council of Ministers then government seminar: the subjects were numerous and the objective displayed by the President of the Republic was to "structure the major projects for the start of the school year".

Invitation of an IPCC climatologist

The climate issue and the energy crisis were at the heart of the discussions.

What is rare enough to be underlined is that the Head of State had invited a climatologist to this meeting, Valérie Masson-Delmotte, member of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), who was invited to give some kind of training to ministers on ecological and climate issues.

Finally, as energy prices soar, the government as a whole had to work on the solutions to be implemented between the various ministries in the coming weeks or months.

"We are not going to let energy prices explode," promised Elisabeth Borne.

"The French can count on me," she hammered.

The Prime Minister then spoke to the press to report on this back-to-school government seminar.
