The Central Committee of Doctors of Sudan: The killing of a Sudanese protester in Khartoum

The Central Committee of Sudan Doctors said in a statement today, Wednesday, that one of the protesters died today, Wednesday, while marching towards the airport in the capital, Khartoum, in the latest incident during the anti-army protests that have entered their tenth month.

The committee added that the protester was hit in the head by a tear gas canister and was run over by one of the security forces' vehicles, bringing the death toll since the October 25 events to 117.

More than 4,000 protesters blocked the capital's main road with stones and burning tires as they moved towards the country's main airport, the latest destination in the protests that have been heading in recent months towards the presidential palace.

The police, who are heavily deployed in the area, fired tear gas about 1.5 kilometers from the airport and chased the protesters down the side streets.
