Sharjah Environment issues a clarification regarding the presence of a shark near the beaches of Khorfakkan

The Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority stated that regarding what was circulated on social media about the presence of a shark near the shores of Khor Fakkan, that this type of shark does not pose a danger to humans and does not attack unless it is harassed, provoked or touched.

The authority stated that the cases of shark attacks in the country are almost non-existent, and sharks are rarely seen near the beaches.

The Environment Agency issued advice to beachgoers when there is a shark, which is to run out of the water calmly and not to block its path, and not to stand in front of it, provoke it or touch it, and thus this behavior will be translated as an attack on it.
