Pfizer and Moderna .. “American Medicines” allow the use of new versions of the vaccine against Omicron

The US Medicines Agency (FDA) has approved the emergency use of a new version of the Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna against the Omicron mutant to quickly start a new vaccination campaign.

The US Medicines Agency "FDA" said in a statement reported by the French Press Agency (AFP) that it is allowed to use the two updated vaccines to obtain a booster dose starting from the age of 12 for the Pfizer vaccine and the age of 18 for Moderna.

This new generation of COVID-19 vaccine targets the original pandemic mutant, BA.4 and BA.5 from Omicron.

The US agency added that these vaccines should provide increased protection against the currently circulating Omicron mutant.

Vaccines must comply with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and an independent panel of experts is scheduled to meet at the request of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to discuss the matter tomorrow, Thursday.
