The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it has approved a new vaccine from Pfizer and Moderna to prevent omicron mutations in COVID-19.

The FDA explained that Pfizer's vaccine can only be given to people over the age of 12, while Moderna is restricted to adults over the age of 18.

According to the Associated Press, the new vaccine combines the first approved vaccine recipe with half protection against the latest omic mutations called BA.4 and BA.5.

This is said to increase the effectiveness of prevention against several mutations.

These vaccines are not used as a primary dose, but are administered to those who have already received the primary vaccine.
