It is clear after the Delegation for municipal finances in balance, the so-called municipal emergency, made its first decisions.

In total, there is a targeted government grant of SEK 750 million which is to be used for measures to bring the finances of municipalities and regions into balance.

38 municipalities and regions were judged to have such bad finances that they could apply for the state grant.

- This is a first round of decisions for the municipalities that had relatively uncomplicated and easily assessed applications.

More decisions will be made in the autumn, comments Clas Olsson, chairman of the delegation.

For Ragunda, the decision means that the municipality will receive 6.4 million of the 31.8 million kroner the municipality applied for.

Still no decision on Bräcke

Bräcke municipality has also applied for money, SEK 343 million, but for Bräcke's part, the delegation will make a decision later this fall.

In total, regions and municipalities with struggling economies have applied for a total of SEK 1,700 million, and the delegation has SEK 750 million to distribute.
