Academic or occupational signs include continuous running away, dropping out of studies and work, inability to go to school or work in the morning, academic delay, and professional regression.

She pointed out that social signs include introversion, permanent isolation from others, and the desire to accompany bad friends, in addition to other signs, including the constant demand for money, lying and psychological anxiety, in addition to theft.

She added that recent studies and global figures issued by the competent authorities in the fight against addiction indicate that young people and adolescents are among the groups and groups most at risk of initiating drug abuse and addiction, attributing the causes of adolescent addiction to the pressure they face from peers, and the absence of refusal skills. Bullying, early smoking, violence, lack of awareness of the effects of substance abuse, poor relationship with parents, drug abuse or addiction by a parent or sibling, easy access to drugs, in addition to curiosity and love of experience at this delicate age.She pointed out that there are other reasons that lead young people to the drug and addiction trap, including the lack of skills to deal with stress, the misuse of prescription drugs, and the spread of wrong beliefs that increase the risk of abuse and addiction, (including that the use of some substances helps raise the mental level or energy of the individual Unemployment, unhealthy relationships, family and financial problems.
