The Sharjah Education Council witnessed a huge turnout for registration in government nurseries by families wishing to enroll their children in one of the government nurseries in the Emirate of Sharjah, after the Council opened the registration door since the end of last July.

The council revealed that it had received 1,096 applications for registration for the academic year 2022/2023, while the number of memberships from 2019 to 2022 amounted to 4,927 membership, after the council stipulated that the registration process be carried out according to two basic stages. And his mother and father, while the second stage was allocated to reserve the seat for the child.

The number of reserved seats reached 510, distributed over three cities, namely Sharjah, Al Wusta and Al Sharqiya, while the Sharjah Education Council granted priority to reserving the seat for children of Sharjah government employees in the first phase, and then made it available in the second phase for non-Sharjah government workers.

The Council made it possible to update the membership due to the inability of some to complete the process of entering all the required data, in line with the Council's policies in facilitating the registration service, and because of the high demand for registration.

The Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council, Dr. Saeed Musabeh Al Kaabi, said that the demand for nurseries this year was heavy.

He added to «Emirates Today», that it was decided to open five new government nurseries, pointing to the completion of their readiness, as three nurseries are being opened during the month of September, and a nursery at the end of November, while the opening of the fifth can be delayed until the beginning of 2023 until it is received from the Department of Works. In addition, there are other nurseries that are being worked on under the supervision and implementation of the Department of Works.

He added that the new government nurseries to be opened in the central region include three nurseries.
