A team of experts from the IAEA = International Atomic Energy Agency is heading to the site to investigate the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine.

Amid growing concerns about a large-scale accident following a series of attacks on nuclear power plants, the focus will be on whether it will lead to ensuring safety.

At the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine, which is controlled by Russia, the IAEA revealed that from the 25th to the 27th, there was shelling near the building about 100 meters away from the reactor building. Attacks on the surrounding area are continuing.

In the image taken on the 29th by Maxar Technologies, an American company that operates artificial satellites, multiple holes can be seen on the roof of the building near the nuclear reactor, and white smoke can be seen in the area around the nuclear power plant. It can be seen rising.

Under these circumstances, the IAEA expert team is scheduled to enter the field for investigation this week, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has announced that ``the expert team is scheduled to arrive in Kyiv, the capital, today.''

On the 29th, spokesman Peskov of the Russian Presidential Office said he would cooperate with the IAEA's investigation.

On the other hand, Japan once again expresses its negative views on the withdrawal of troops from nuclear power plants proposed by Europe and the United States.

The future focus will be on whether the investigation will proceed as planned and whether it will lead to ensuring safety.
