“Criminal case on the fact of unlawful deprivation of liberty of a minor, that is, on the grounds of crimes under paragraph “e” of Part 2 of Art.

127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal deprivation of liberty in respect of a knowingly minor), ”RT said in the press service of the department.

According to investigators, on August 23, 2022, an employee of a store on Selezneva Street in Novosibirsk closed a child in a refrigerated warehouse because the boy asked to remove expired products from the store shelves.

As RT was told in the regional Investigative Committee, investigators are now carrying out a set of measures, as well as interrogating suspects.

“It is too early to talk about the results of the interrogation and the choice of a measure of restraint,” she explained.

The father of the child, Mikhail Lapin, told RT that the incident took place in the Maria-Ra store.  

“My son knew that in this store sometimes expired goods come across on the shelves.

So he decided to do a good deed with his friends and put things in order.

They collected half a cart of delay and showed it to the administrator.

But the employees took away the cart, yelled at the children and kicked them out,” says Lapin.

According to the man, a few minutes after that, his son returned to the store alone.

On his smartphone, he opened a page with the law, which says that the delay cannot be sold, and began to read these rules to the store administrator.

“At that moment, a man approached him.

He grabbed his son by the hand and dragged him into the back room, and then closed it in the freezer, where it was -22 ° C.

The son began to call law enforcement agencies.

And he, having heard “hello, police”, immediately opened the door and threw him by the scruff of the neck through the back door.

If he didn’t have a phone, it’s not known how long they would have kept him there,” says the father.

He notes that as soon as he learned about the incident, he went with his son to the store and called the police squad.

“At first, the police took the matter lightly.

Then we talked with our son and already understood what was happening, that this was not a childish prank.

At the age of nine, my son is very principled, he speaks very reasonedly and competently, - explains Lapin.

In turn, the prosecutor's office for the Novosibirsk region told RT that police officers who did not immediately respond to their father's statements could also be held accountable.

“It was established that the police officers, until the circumstances of the incident were made public, did not actually carry out verification activities, they did not initiate the transfer of materials to the investigators of the Investigative Committee, which violated the requirements of Articles 6.1 and 151 of the Criminal Procedure Law.

In this regard, the prosecutor's office sent information to the head of the police department on August 29, 2022, about the elimination of violations of federal law, ”Sergey Chernov, senior assistant to the prosecutor of the Novosibirsk Region for media relations, told RT.
