On 14 and 15 September, Kazakhstan will host the seventh session of the Conference of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in the capital, Nur-Sultan, in the presence of the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, in addition to 100 delegations from 60 countries representing all religions. Under the title “The Role of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in the Spiritual and Social Development of Humanity in the Post-Pandemic Era.”

During a media briefing held at the headquarters of his country's embassy in Abu Dhabi yesterday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the country, Madyar Menilbekov, noted that there is a great similarity in the standards of tolerance in the United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan, in terms of embracing a large number of nationalities and ethnicities, with the presence of about 130 nationalities and ethnic groups. In Kazakhstan, about 200 nationalities from different countries of the world live in the UAE in fraternity, peace and stability.

He said, "The culture of tolerance in the Kazakh strategy is characterized as the product of a long struggle for survival and continuity, since independence from the former Soviet Union."

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the country explained that the seventh conference will be one of the main international events for this year, as Kazakhstan will show the world its commitment to the ideas of tolerance, openness, mutual respect and trust between the state and society.

He stressed that Kazakhstan's development strategy aims to ensure dialogue and cooperation between cultures and religions as a basic pillar of the international system, due to its full awareness of the urgent need for urgent reforms in the system of international relations aimed at suppressing threats and challenges faced by the global community in the third decade of the twenty-first century.

On the specific objectives of the Conference of Religious Leaders, the ambassador identified the most prominent of them in the following: consolidating peace and coexistence, mutual respect and tolerance among religions, nations and ethnic groups, preventing the use of religion to escalate conflicts, strengthening traditions of dialogue between religions and sects, cooperating with all international organizations, and expanding dialogue between representatives Various religions, with the participation of representatives of the media, youth associations and intellectuals, and the development of a culture of tolerance and mutual respect in the face of hatred and extremism.
