Sweden will give a support package to Ukraine worth one billion Swedish kronor.

Half the pack will consist of weapons.

But who it will be will be announced "shortly".

Archer is a modern artillery manufactured by BAE Systems Bofors AB for the Swedish army.

A major advantage of the system, according to Rein Pella, teacher of weapons technology at the Norwegian Defense Academy, is that it is very quick to stop and shoot and then move on, what is known as regrouping.

"From the time you stop and can shoot, it's barely 30 seconds," he says.

According to him, this makes it more difficult for an opponent to knock out the artillery.

- It is difficult to fight a mobile system.

Advanced system

At the same time, it is a very advanced system that requires a lot of maintenance.

Which may make it difficult for Ukraine to use it optimally in a short time

- Should they get Archer, it is by far the most advanced system they have received in terms of technology and how the system is operated, notes Rein Pella.

Sweden currently has 48 archer pieces.

Soon it will be expanded to 72 pieces.
