6 killed in two shooting incidents in the United States

The American police have arrested the perpetrator of a shooting that left three dead and wounded in the city of Detroit, according to the police of the northern city of the United States, while three others were killed in another shooting in Texas.

Detroit Police Chief James White told media that a man and two women were found shot dead at separate locations in the city, adding that another man spotted the suspect staring into car windows and told him to stop, but the gunman returned fire.

White confirmed in his press conference that the shootings were very indiscriminate, noting that one of the "victims were waiting inside a bus and another was passing in the street, as well as a man who was walking his dog."

At around 2:00 (0100 GMT), Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan announced that the suspect had been found and arrested.

Another shooting incident resulted in casualties in the United States, as the Houston city authorities in Texas said that three people were also killed when a man shot them in front of their home.

"Unfortunately, this suspect set fire to several homes and waited for residents to come out and shoot them," Houston Police Chief Troy Viner told a news conference.

He added that the firefighters who were battling these fires also had to take cover before the police arrived and killed the shooter.

Wiener pointed out that the gunman was recently told that he would be evicted from his home, likely as a motive, but the police are investigating the matter.
