The new academic year witnessed the transformation of 10 schools into “generational schools” in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Al Ajyal schools are divided into two schools in Dubai, Al Mizhar, cycle one, and Al Maktoum, cycle one, and two schools in Sharjah, namely, Al Qarayen, cycle one, and Al Furqan, cycle one, Mushrif School, cycle one in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain School, cycle one in Umm Al Quwain, and three schools in Ras Al Khaimah. Al Mataf is the first cycle, Al Wadi is the first cycle, Al Ma’arid is the first cycle, and Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi School is the first cycle in the Emirate of Fujairah.

The Emirates Foundation for School Education reported that the number of students who registered in the "generational schools" for the academic year 2022-2023 exceeded 5,902 male and female students, pointing to the addition of nine schools to the "generations" next academic year, in addition to nine other schools in the next academic year.

School administrations stated that the attendance rate confirms the keenness of the students' parents to follow up their children's studies from the first day.

For his part, the director of a private school - who preferred not to be named - stressed the need to adhere to the precautionary measures included in the Return to School Protocol, including the need to activate the green passage for parents of students so that they can enter the school building.

"We started the first day of the new school year by encouraging school teams and distributing tasks to them, in addition to setting priorities to ensure an effective reception for students," said the director of the Happiness School for the first cycle, Maryam Abdullah Saeed Al Mazrouei, to "Emirates Today".

And she added that the school monitored the challenges that it expects to appear during the first two weeks in the academic aspects, student affairs, school services and educational staff, in addition to self-evaluation to ensure reaching the required quality in the educational process, by evaluating the safe return to classrooms, evaluating the school building, and following up on the readiness of the educational facility. She stressed the importance of the role of students' families, who are an important part of the educational process, explaining that "the school has contacted them since the first school hours, to answer their inquiries and provide them with instructions, instructions, school schedules, and timing."

On the other hand, the Emirates Foundation for School Education reported, in a message via “Telegram”, that school uniforms could be sold at Al Dhahra School for Girls - a third cycle, in the Hatta region, for a temporary period at the beginning of the school year in which the students started studying yesterday.

The Director General of the Emirates Foundation for School Education, Muhammad Al-Qasim, stressed that the start of the 2022-2023 school year is an occasion with which ambition and hope for the future of the UAE’s children are renewed.

During his conversation with educational cadres in schools, he stressed the centrality of their roles in supporting and developing the educational system, and bringing it to the ranks of the global educational systems, calling for unifying visions and mobilizing efforts to reach the aspirations of the leadership in the education file.
