The woman first sought care at Värnamo hospital after she fell at home.
There she was x-rayed, but the doctor concluded that a fracture had not occurred.
Two years later, she is said to have visited an orthopedist at the Motala hospital who determined that she had an untreated fracture in her hip, according to the Ivo report.
The woman, who had previously been able to fend for herself, was confined to a wheelchair due to the pain.
"The consequences of missing my hip fracture at Värnamo hospital were extensive in the form of chronic and severe pain from the hip and I became dependent on home care for help," the woman writes in the report.
