The left party wants to introduce so-called "Sweden prices" for Swedish electricity consumers by separating the domestic Swedish market from the European electricity market.

According to the party, this would stabilize the Swedish electricity price around 40 öre per kilowatt hour.

A measure that is worth introducing even if it may conflict with the regulations that apply to the EU's common electricity market.

- They (the critics) said that the proposal was discriminatory against other electricity consumers, but there is no discrimination.

Export prices will be at the same levels.

There is a misjudgment on their part, says Nooshi Dadgostar (V) in SVT's party leader hearing.

Dadgostar: Unreasonably high electricity prices despite surplus

- What is happening in Sweden right now is that in the middle of August we have a huge electricity surplus but are paying the highest electricity prices ever.

It is not reasonable.

Only the electricity companies run it.

Camilla Kvartoft says that the EU is in the middle of a severe energy crisis where Putin is pressuring the EU with high natural gas prices.

She asks if this proposal does not risk creating even more tension in the EU at a time when the EU needs to stick together against Putin.

- No one will be worse off, the opportunity to export remains, but the only thing that happens is that the support for us to continue producing electricity and exporting electricity increases, we can protect Swedish customers from Putin's pressure on us.

Wants the Young Left to stamp out communism

During the hearing, Nooshi Dadgostar was also asked questions about the party's communist roots, and why the Left Party's youth association still aims to reach a communist society.

- It is not me who is behind it, Dadgostar said in the hearing.

In the program of principles that the youth association, Young Left, adopted last year, it is written that the goal is a communist society.

- I don't think it should remain and I have told the youth association that, I don't think it's good, said Dadgostar.
