Since the first conference was held in Berlin, Germany in 2000, the scale of the conference has increased from more than 600 people to more than 3,000 people, and the range of participating overseas Chinese leaders and representatives has increased from more than 60 to more than 120 countries and regions.
The conference gathered the concerted efforts of overseas Chinese and demonstrated the patriotism of Chinese sons and daughters. This time, the "Chengdu Declaration" was jointly established.
Why did the representatives of overseas Chinese come to this anti-independence conference to promote reunification?
First of all, peaceful reunification is the aspiration of the people and the "greatest common divisor" of overseas Chinese organizations.
The "greatest common divisor" stands for seeking common ground while reserving differences, and for uniting all forces that can be united.
The peaceful reunification of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the defense of China's territorial integrity and sovereignty and independence are the consensus of the sons and daughters of the Chinese at home and abroad.
The consensus connects the blood kinship of compatriots on both sides of the strait, guarantees the unity and construction of overseas Chinese communities, and creates the common goal of overseas Chinese compatriots.
From the "Protecting Diaoyu Movement" to opposing "Taiwan Independence", the Global Overseas Chinese Conference for the Promotion of China's Peaceful Reunification provides an important stage for overseas Chinese to declare their positions, exchange opinions, and enhance consensus, and gathers the overseas Chinese forces to promote peaceful reunification.

Second, fighting against "independence" and promoting reunification is a just move, and it is the firm belief of overseas Chinese that the cause of justice will surely win.
51 years ago, the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 completely resolved the issue of China's representation in the UN politically, legally and procedurally, and provided an authoritative legal basis for the UN system and agencies to properly handle Taiwan-related issues.
Thirty years ago, the "1992 Consensus" was reached, which verbally stated that both sides of the Taiwan Strait adhere to the one-China principle.
The overseas Chinese who are at the forefront of China Foreign Dialogue are well aware that Taiwan is a part of China, and the Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affairs, which brooks no interference from any external forces.
Since August of this year, the "Taiwan independence" forces have colluded with external forces to bring about setbacks in cross-strait relations and aroused the opposition and indignation of the majority of overseas Chinese.
It is precisely because of this that batches of overseas Chinese have crossed political barriers and contributed to the efforts of "overseas Chinese" to oppose "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and realize the integrated development of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Thirdly, the realization of complete reunification is the general trend and the common aspiration of Chinese sons and daughters at home and abroad.
A Canadian overseas Chinese once expressed his urgent expectation for the reunification of the two sides of the strait with the expression "When Taiwan returns, the family will not forget to tell Nai Weng".
The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia recently released an open letter titled "Taiwan compatriots are Chinese citizens, please contact the Chinese embassy in case of difficulties" when helping Taiwan compatriots who suffered from telecom fraud, and took practical actions, which was widely praised.
