In the midst of an energy crisis in Europe, I've seen many articles stating that next year's household electricity bills in major countries will reach millions of Korean won.

AFP reports that Germany and France will increase their electricity prices more than tenfold next year.

In the case of a four-person household, the maximum rate in Germany is 4.09 million won and in France 4.82 million won.

In the UK, energy rates, including electricity, are expected to rise by over 80% in October.

The biggest reason for the rise in electricity prices was when Russia announced that it would completely shut off gas pipelines to Europe at the end of this month.

This announcement has fueled natural gas futures prices.

Extreme drought caused by climate change also had an impact. Germany is importing coal due to a lack of natural gas, but transportation is being disrupted as the Rhine River dries up due to abnormal temperatures. The water temperature of the river used rose, and the operation of the nuclear power plant took an emergency.
