According to RIA Novosti with reference to the TV channel, fighting between units loyal to the head of the Government of National Unity of Libya, Abdelhamid Dbeyba, and supporters of Libyan Prime Minister Fathi Bashagi, elected by parliament, began on August 26 in Tripoli.

According to Al-Arabia, formations of Bashagi supporters are now approaching Tripoli from three sides.

It is reported that they occupied the territory of Tripoli International Airport.
