F1: Carlos Sainz Jr (Ferrari) will start on pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix

Dutch world championship leader Max Verstappen (Red Bull) set the fastest time in qualifying, but will only start 15th on the grid on Sunday due to a penalty for over-quota mechanical parts changes allowed.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), 2nd in the championship and also penalized, will start from 16th place.
