In Jönköping County, the board, where KD is part of and holds the position of chairman, has reduced the number of care places during the last terms of office.

The region also stands out in the national comparison between the years 2014 and 2020.

Removed over 300 care places

In the county, the percentage of care places has decreased the most of the country's regions.

- We have no mandate to reduce the number of care places, says regional board chairman Mia Frisk (KD) when SVT meets her outside the party's polling booth in central Jönköping on Friday.

- Our mission is to have the care places that are needed.

In the clip above, you can hear Mia Frisk tell why the region reduced the number of care places by a third.

Criticized few care places - KD behind half of the reductions

The Christian Democrats' party leader Ebba Busch has promised to triple the state subsidy to increase the number of care places in Sweden.

At the same time, Uppdrag review shows that KD is behind half of the reductions.

The party has been involved in removing 1,662 care places in the country between 2014 and 2020. This is half of all care places that have been removed during that time, Uppdrag gränskning's review of the latest available statistics from SKR, Sweden's municipalities and regions shows.

In 2014, there were 977 care places in the Jönköping region, in 2020 there were 655 left.
