Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) thinks that the announcement from the prosecutor that Annie Lööf was a target for the crime in Visby this summer is terrible and now supports Annie Lööf.

"When elected officials and civil servants are exposed to hatred, threats and violence, it is terrible for the victim and their relatives, and it also threatens the foundation of Sweden's democracy", writes Magdalena Andersson.

Busch: "You have my wholehearted support"

Christian Democrat party leader Ebba Busch writes on Twitter that she is completely saddened.

“You have my wholehearted support in this process.

Threats against politicians undermine democracy and security must be guaranteed," writes Ebba Busch.

The Green Party's spokesperson Per Bolund writes on Twitter:

"Thoughts return to the far-right terrorist Teodor Engström's terrible murder of Ing-Marie Wieselgren.

We must fight together against hate, violence and terror!", writes Bolund.

Språkröret Märta Stenevi (MP) also writes on Twitter: "So terrible.

Annie Lööf, all the support to you.

And you are so right - we must not let the hate win.

Instead, we stand together against those who want to tear our society apart"

Moderate party leader Ulf Kristersson writes on Instagram:

"I knew Ing-Marie Wieselgren quite well for many years, and her murder is so difficult to take in and find words for.

Absolutely terrible to hear now that the same man planned an attack against you as well.

My thoughts go out to you and your family.”

Pehrson: "Annie, take care of yourself"

The Liberals' party leader Johan Pehrson believes that politically motivated violence is a threat to the whole of society.

"Unpleasant and shaken information about Annie Lööfs in Almedalen.

And in this case with a murder victim we must never forget either.

Annie, take care.

Hope to see you soon," he writes on Twitter.

Nooshi Dadgostar shocked

For the leader of the Left Party, Nooshi Dadgostar, the prosecutor's announcement came as a shock.

- It is absolutely terrible that Annie Lööf, a friend and a strong politician, has been the target of this murderer, she tells SVT Nyheter.

Dadgostar herself was near the scene during the crime, which made her think about her own safety as a party leader.

- We are in the middle of an election campaign, both me and Annie Lööf, where we are at debates like this.

It is basically a question of our entire democracy.

It is clear that I am also thinking about these questions.

Sweden Democrats party leader Jimmie Åkesson tells SVT that he has a hard time accepting that it has happened in Sweden.

- It sounds like it's not true that it's happening in Sweden, it's clear that you as a politician are exposed to threats and hatred, but that it becomes this tangible is unpleasant, he says to SVT.
