Liu Dengfeng, Supervisor of the Department of Science and Education of the National Health and Health Commission, introduced at the meeting that in recent years, the National Health and Health Commission has continued to strengthen the training of talents in general practice, pediatrics, and psychiatry. The number of physicians reached 3.04, which is close to the level of physician allocation in developed countries.

  Liu Dengfeng introduced that in recent years, the National Health and Medical Commission has continued to deepen the reform of medical and educational collaboration to provide reliable talent guarantees for the development of health services.

Promote the inclusion of legal protection in medical education. Both the Basic Medical and Health Promotion Law and the Physician Law clearly require the improvement of the three-stage medical education system of medical education, post-graduation education, and continuing education, and the establishment and improvement of a standardized training system for residents.

The State Office issued three documents to make specific arrangements for the reform of medical education. The National Health Commission has deepened the reform of medical education collaboration, paid close attention to the implementation of the system, and trained a total of 830,000 residents.

  At the same time, focus on problem orientation and continue to strengthen the training of talents in general practice, pediatrics, and psychiatry. By the end of 2021, the number of doctors in the country has reached 4.287 million, and the number of doctors per thousand population has reached 3.04, which is close to the level of doctors in developed countries.

Among them, the number of general practitioners, pediatricians and psychiatrists reached 435,000, 206,000 and 64,000 respectively, an increase of 295%, 102% and 173% respectively over 2012, contributing to the construction of a healthy China and the development of health services and medical standards.
