In recent months, Rasmus Paludan has had several appearances in Sweden and provoked strong reactions when he uttered messages critical of Islam and burned Korans.

SVT's reporter: Stone was thrown

On Wednesday afternoon, he spoke in Stadsparken in Luleå, where he finally had to be taken away by the police after the mood became agitated among spectators and counter-demonstrators.

He had then also burned a copy of the Koran.

According to SVT's reporter on the spot, stones were also thrown when Paludan was taken away.

Could have had coffee spilled on it

The police have not approved a permit for public assembly for Rasmus Paludan in Luleå.

According to NSD, Rasmus Paludan has applied for permission in Luleå but was refused because it was received late.

The local newspaper asks Petra Hinterthaner, local area police chief for Luleå-Boden, if the report that someone allegedly threw coffee at Rasmus Paludan is true - but the answer is vague.

- What we have gathered is that it must have been some type of liquid that was thrown at him, Hinterthaner tells NSD.
