A major police operation paralyzed rail traffic at Frankfurt Central Station on Wednesday evening.

According to the police, an apparently mentally ill man jumped from a platform onto the track bed and ran onto the platform of the station.

In order not to endanger him, rail traffic was blocked as a precaution.

A helicopter was used to locate the man.

When the man left the platform, the police managed to arrest him.

According to the police spokesman, he will probably be admitted to a psychiatric ward.

Rail traffic came to a complete standstill for around 40 minutes and resumed around 8:30 p.m.
