Bordeaux takes 12th place worldwide in the ranking of the global bicycle cities index, published by the start-up Luko, which sells insurance products.

And, among the French cities, it takes the second position, just behind Strasbourg, unbeatable on the scale of the Hexagon.

In its tweet, Bordeaux Métropole stresses that efforts are continuing in this area with a target of 18% of bicycle trips by 2030.

This ranking, which places the cities of Utrecht (Netherlands), Münster (Germany) and Antwerp (Belgium) in the top three, takes into account various criteria such as weather conditions, cycling infrastructure, the number of bicycles available at the rental in resort and events promoting the practice.
