The United States on Monday rejected Iranian accusations of stalling in indirect talks aimed at restoring the 2015 nuclear deal, saying it was working as quickly as possible to prepare an appropriate response to Tehran's comments on a draft text submitted by the European Union.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a daily press conference that Washington is optimistic that Iran will abandon some of its demands, but there are still outstanding issues to be settled.
