Before half a year has passed since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began, the government held a meeting of related ministers on the 23rd, and in cooperation with the G7 = seven major countries and other related countries, sanctions against Russia and the implementation of sanctions against Ukraine. At the meeting, in addition to related ministers such as Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno and Foreign Minister Hayashi, Prime Minister Kishida, who is infected with the new corona and is working at the Prime Minister's official residence, will attend online.



“Japan respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and stands with the people of Ukraine, who are working hard to defend their homeland from Russian aggression,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno said on the 22nd.



At the meeting on the 23rd, the ministers will share information such as the war situation in Ukraine, the diplomatic negotiations of the countries concerned, and trends in the world energy market and prices.



On top of that, amidst concerns that the situation could become even more protracted, we will continue to cooperate with the G7 and other relevant countries to confirm that we will continue to implement sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine.
