The Emirates Foundation for Health Services announced the launch of a service, the first of its kind in the Middle East, “automatic patient transfer” within the electronic food service system, which is applied in all its facilities, announcing the implementation of four accompanying projects by the end of this year, targeting a number of diseases.

This came during a press conference held by the Foundation yesterday at its headquarters, in the presence of the Director of the Health Support Department at the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, Latifa Mohammed Rashid, in addition to a number of health and academic authorities, a group of media professionals and pioneers of social networking sites.

The Executive Director of Supportive Health Services at the Corporation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Naqbi, confirmed that the Corporation is the first in the Middle East that has been able to enhance and automate its smart food service system, raise the efficiency of nutrition departments in all its hospitals and primary health care centers, and move them to a digital system that provides The target groups have therapeutic healthy meals, in accordance with the highest international health and food safety standards, taking into account the health status of each patient, and contributing to the rapid response to treatment.

In turn, the Director of the Health Support Department, Latifa Mohammed Rashid, explained during the conference that the institution is proceeding according to a clear future methodology that includes the sustainable development of all its services, through the application of best practices and global technologies in line with the UAE strategy 2071, and in line with its aspirations and development directions for the next fifty years. It ensures the efficiency and excellence of the health care sector in the country, achieves the quality of healthy life for customers, and enhances the competitiveness of the sector at the regional and global levels.

The service includes the project “Referral of malnourished children aged 5-19 years in hospitals”, “Type 2 diabetes”, “Tubular feeding for patients”, and “Following up the growth of the child within normal weights, referring children to centers Healthy automatically”, targeting malnutrition diseases, adult patients, overweight and obese patients, pre-diabetes patients, heart diseases, blood pressure and malnutrition in the elderly.

The project to transform malnourished children aims to maintain the normal weight of children, reduce the prevalence of chronic diseases and malnutrition diseases, raise the quality and sustainability of life by reducing the costs involved in treating these diseases, and ensure the safety and health of future generations, which leads to raising production efficiency for all community members and achieve happiness.

The project works by transferring the target group suffering from malnutrition diseases (overweight, obesity, wasting, stunting, thinness) in hospitals to a nutrition clinic automatically through the electronic ML system, where nutritional care and nutritional intervention are provided, and children with normal weights are excluded. and children with special needs.

The "Type 2 Diabetes" project aims to reduce the length of stay in hospitals for diabetic patients and delay the incidence of its complications, which leads to reducing the cost of treatment, nursing and pharmaceutical care, and improving the patient's lifestyle by reaching a normal sugar level, working to reach a normal weight, and prevention. from disease complications.

The tube feeding project works to refer patients who depend on it to dietitians to examine them and identify malnourished cases, with the aim of improving them, improving body weight and mass, reducing complications of chronic and associated diseases, and improving the patient's ability to consume food by mouth.

 Follow up system

The project “Following the growth of the child within normal weights, transferring children in health centers automatically”, aims to establish a system to follow up the growth of the child within the normal weights for healthy children reviewed in health centers, where children are transferred electronically through the electronic program (ML) within criteria determined by the Nutrition Department. To provide care and nutritional intervention for the child according to the protocol and guideline approved by the department.
