He added that "the administration recorded 1,664 vehicle crashes during the past year, in which 3,749 drivers were involved, while 1,009 accidents were recorded in the first half of this year, in which 2,285 vehicles participated," noting that "most of them are minor accidents, but it is possible that a minor accident may lead to The last eloquent, in light of the preoccupation and lack of attention.”

He explained that it is possible to imagine the consequences of violations related to busyness, when we find that both violations of sudden swerving and not leaving enough distance between vehicles topped the list of causes of accidents during the past year and the first half of this year, stressing that “the two violations often occur due to the driver being preoccupied with something else, before the driver was preoccupied with something else. He gets involved in committing them, and then causes a fatal accident.”

He stressed that "the Dubai Police spare no effort to raise awareness of the dangers of this behavior, in light of the lack of awareness of many drivers of its consequences, and their insistence on using the phone while driving," noting that "in light of the development of communication technology and the obsession of many with social networks, many do not realize The amount of time they spend reading a post, watching a video, or responding to others via chat apps, while the accident happens in a matter of seconds.”

Bin Suwaidan continued, "There is a state of awareness that can be monitored by many members of society about safe driving and the importance of discipline on the road, but there is still a need to be wary of some behaviors that pose a danger to its owner or other road users."

He pointed out that "Dubai Police enhances the aspect of traffic control, whether through the spread of its patrols in a thoughtful manner in the various areas of the emirate's jurisdiction, or by using modern technologies with the aim of deterring violators in the first place, and enhancing the safety of all road users."

The traffic control devices used by Dubai Police include a sophisticated device that can monitor several violations, including the use of a mobile phone while driving, which is punishable by law with a fine of 800 dirhams and four black traffic points.

He pointed out the need to take advantage of advanced technologies in many modern vehicles equipped with sensors to measure the safe distance with the vehicles, or in the event of deviation from the lane, and it issues a warning to warn the driver of a potential danger, indicating that some deliberately stop these technologies as a source of inconvenience to him while driving, despite the fact that Its great importance and being a catalyst to protect it from the risk of accidents.
