The Dubai Government Human Resources Department organized a workshop entitled "The Future of Wastewater Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence and Beyond", with the aim of introducing young citizens to the labor market's need for this type of specialization in the field of wastewater engineering, as part of an ambitious program for professional and academic guidance, aimed at qualifying a conscious generation It is ready to face future changes and challenges, build the capacities of young citizens in various fields, and direct them to priority specializations in the future.

The Director of the National Capacity Building Department in the department, Shamma Al-Hamiri, affirmed the department’s keenness to achieve the leadership’s future vision to enhance the status of national competencies, and to focus on providing this type of program using distinguished national competencies to be an example and role model for future generations in developing vital sectors, training national cadres and preparing them for the future. The workshop touched on the role of artificial intelligence and its link to sewage engineering and the future skills of students to facilitate the adoption of programming and artificial intelligence applications for future generations, and encourage them to go to study engineering fields that the state needs, such as sewage engineering.

She said that wastewater treatment plays an important role in protecting the environment, water resources and human health, and from this point of view, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department is keen to draw the attention of the people of the Emirates to the need for the labor market to specialize in sewage engineering, and the importance of studying it to qualify the competencies of citizens who contribute to water management. Sanitation using advanced technologies, and harnessing artificial intelligence to reuse treated water and solid biological waste in agricultural irrigation in order to reduce fresh water consumption, especially in dry areas.

The workshop was organized by the National Capacity Building Department at the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, in cooperation with the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications at the Ministry of State for Artificial Intelligence, as part of the activities of the fourth session of the Emirates Artificial Intelligence Camp, and as part of an ambitious program for professional and academic guidance, launched by the Department With the aim of introducing young citizens and informing them of the labor market's need for this type of specialization in the field of sewage engineering.

The workshop, which was presented by the Director of the Department of Planning and Design of Sewage Systems in Dubai Municipality, Engineer Sheikha Al-Sheikh, and attended by about 35 students of the target age group 15-20 years, focused on the importance of sewage networks in the urban development of Dubai, and the impact of climate change on Sanitation systems, the role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in the sanitation sector, and the importance of wastewater and stormwater projects.

The summer camp for guidance is one of the initiatives of the "Tomohi" program for preparing and guiding Emirati students, which is organized annually by the National Capacity Building Department in the Dubai Government's Human Resources Department, to highlight the importance of linking pivotal specializations with the requirements of the labor market, and directing students towards the country's future needs in vital sectors. Increasing the community’s confidence in the importance of some specialized jobs, encouraging Emirati students to go to vital specializations, and raising their awareness of the importance of going to these specialties, in addition to building the capacities of young citizens in various fields.
