In a commentary to the Prime agency, he noted that by now any Russian citizen is able to get rid of most of the debts that he has incurred in accordance with the bankruptcy law.

However, some will have to pay throughout their lives.

First of all, this applies to compensation for damage to the life and health of another person or salary debts in relation to persons who officially worked for a citizen.

In addition, it is mandatory to pay off debts for the consequences of transactions that the court declared invalid, criminal fines for committing a socially dangerous act and losses to legal entities caused by the debtor, being a participant, leader or manager.

Also, regardless of the financial situation, Russians are obliged to pay off debts that arose after the court accepted the bankruptcy petition - for example, this applies to housing and communal services and alimony debts, since in this case we are talking about the interests of children.

Earlier, Timur Sokolov, Head of the Department of Judicial Systems and Criminal Law of the HSE Faculty of Law, told what money cannot be written off for debts.

The Izvestia newspaper reported that more than 3 billion rubles of debts would be written off to the Russians without a trial.
