The White House said on the 19th local time that if Russian President Vladimir Putin attends the G20 summit in Bali, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should also attend.

Earlier, Indonesian President Joko Widodo said Putin may attend the G20 summit.

In a statement, the White House National Security Council said: "As President Biden himself has publicly stated, Putin should not be at the G20 because of his extraordinary military operation against Ukraine...but if Putin does , the United States believes that Zelensky should also participate in the G20 summit."

According to the analysis of the report, if the White House insists that Zelensky participate in the summit, Zelensky may attend the summit by video connection.

In July this year, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kurleba also made a speech via video link at the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

This year's G20 summit will be held in Bali in November.

Earlier, Widodo confirmed on August 18 that Putin will attend the G20 summit.

The Kremlin declined to comment, but an official familiar with the situation said Putin was considering taking part in the summit in person.

At present, Biden has not confirmed whether he will attend the G20 summit.
