And she explained, as part of her "Safe Summer" campaign, that there are 12 lifelines to protect children from drowning while swimming, including not using the swimming pools alone, putting a safe fence around the pools, being familiar with swimming, making the floor surrounding the pool non-slip, and providing children with collars. For its part, the National Ambulance warned beach and swimming pool visitors not to neglect safety guidelines, as drowning accidents are a major cause of death from unintended injuries in the country, noting that last year it responded to more than 194 drowning accidents in swimming pools and beaches in the northern regions.

He called for caution and following safety instructions related to going to beaches or swimming pools, swimming in licensed and safe places where lifeguards are available and in safe weather conditions, and observing children and never leaving them, while wearing a swimming jacket.

He said that he recently launched the "Safety in Water" initiative with the aim of raising community awareness of the most important safety guidelines and ways to prevent drowning that beach and swimming pool goers must follow.
