Nykvarn's children's clothing, which sells used garments, opened its doors just over two years ago and in January, owner Frida Mikkelsen began to open without staff - and with an unlocked door.

- It has worked well, the store is not in the center so not many people come here spontaneously if they don't know us, so I thought I had a good grasp of the people who come here, she says.

In the clip above, she talks about the disappointment after she discovered this week that a bunch of clothes had been stolen.

Increased trend

According to a survey made by the newspaper Dagligvarunytt, the number of unmanned stores in the country is increasing.

Today there are upwards of 130 of them and the number is expected to double in the next year.

But Frida Mikkelsen may now be forced to reconsider.

Will you continue to have unstaffed certain times?

- Possibly, but very much more limited, says Frida Mikkelsen.
