"Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today announced that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Canada from August 24 to 26," the statement said.

It is specified that the head of the alliance will visit the cities of Edmonton, Cold Lake and Cambridge Bay, where military bases are deployed.

The upcoming talks between Stoltenberg and Trudeau will be devoted to discussing issues of Euro-Atlantic security and the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier, the CBC, citing Liberal Party lawmaker Judy Sgro, reported on plans by a group of Canadian MPs to visit Taiwan in October.
