Prosecutors are investigating the case of 'forcible repatriation of North Korean fishermen to North Korea' today (19th) and are raiding the Presidential Archives.

According to the legal community, the 3rd Division of Public Investigation of the Seoul Central Prosecutors' Office (Prosecutor Lee Jun-beom) is sending about 10 people including prosecutors and investigators to the Presidential Archives in Sejong this afternoon to secure related data.

In November 2019, the prosecution ended the joint investigation of two North Korean fishermen who were presumed to have killed 16 fellow sailors by the Moon Jae-in administration's line in the Blue House and the National Intelligence Service, without any legal basis, and forcibly returned them to North Korea despite their intention to defect. The allegations are being investigated.

Prosecutors are expected to conduct a search and seizure by selecting and perusing documents that contain the government's decision-making process from among the presidential records.
