At the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), which will be held later this month, Prime Minister Kishida is making adjustments to announce efforts to boost growth in Africa, including investment in the spread of renewable energy and human resource development.

TICAD = Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) is an international conference led by the Japanese government. This year, the eighth conference, will be held in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia in North Africa, on the 27th and 28th of this month, with Prime Minister Kishida and Foreign Minister Hayashi attending. It's a schedule.



During the conference, Prime Minister Kishida emphasized that, bearing in mind China's growing influence over Africa, public-private sector investment for the spread of renewable energy and ODA in the field of global health, including measures against infectious diseases. = We are proceeding with coordination to announce efforts to boost Africa's growth, such as official development assistance and human resource development in the fields of agriculture, industry, and energy.



The conference also discussed how to strengthen agricultural production capacity in Africa and cooperation in the field of health and medical care, including countermeasures against the novel coronavirus, as the global food crisis becomes an issue against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine. On the final day, we expect to adopt the Tunis Declaration, which incorporates the results of our discussions.



On the other hand, Prime Minister Kishida will visit Qatar in the Middle East and the UAE (United Arab Emirates) after TICAD. This is an idea that I want to work on.
