Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who is visiting the country, to demand the withdrawal of Russian troops from the ongoing shelling of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant as the Russian military aggression continues.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Lviv on the 18th.

At a joint press conference after the talks, President Zelensky aimed for inspections and investigations by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) regarding the continuous shelling of Europe's largest Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in the southeastern part of Ukraine, which is controlled by the Russian military, and its surroundings. It was revealed that they had discussed how to deal with it.

He then said, "Russia should unconditionally withdraw its troops from nuclear power plants. Russia is pushing us to the brink of nuclear catastrophe."

UN Secretary-General António Guterres also expressed strong concern over the situation at the nuclear power plant, stating that ``the area around the nuclear power plant should be demilitarized,'' calling for a halt to military action and the withdrawal of troops.

During the talks, they also discussed ways to further promote the export of agricultural products agreed between Ukraine and Russia through the mediation of Turkey and the United Nations.

Turkish President Erdogan referred to this agreement and said, "We must connect the positive momentum of the agreement to peace." expressed the idea that it could not begin without withdrawing from Ukrainian territory.
