In the first half of this year, Sweden's population increased by 35,533 people, which corresponds to an increase of 0.3 percent.

The number of people registered on the last June amounted to 10,487,859.

"The population increase during the first half of the year was greater than during the corresponding months of the pandemic years 2020 and 2021, but lower than during the years 2013 to 2019," says Tomas Johansson, population statistician at Statistics Sweden, in a written comment.

The population increased in 190 of the country's 290 municipalities.

In absolute terms, the increase was greatest in Gothenburg, and in relative terms, the population increased the most in Småland's Habo.
