According to Taiwan's "Central News Agency", 90 officers and soldiers from the Pingtung base of the Taiwan Air Force were sent to the hospital on the 17th for suspected food poisoning, with symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. At present, 20 people have been discharged from the hospital for recuperation. The Health Bureau was reported to initiate an investigation and conduct random inspections.

  The Pingtung County Health Bureau pointed out that on the afternoon of the 17th, it received reports from many hospitals that officers and soldiers in the Pingtung Airport camp area were suspected of food poisoning, and immediately launched an investigation by the food poisoning treatment team. There are symptoms of suspected food poisoning such as vomiting and watery diarrhea, and 90 people have been notified as of the evening.

  The Health Bureau stated that 20 people have been discharged from the hospital, and the sanitation environment and sampling of relevant samples have been checked for the food operation site in the camp area. The follow-up investigation results will be handled in accordance with regulations.

  The Taiwan Air Force Command issued a press release stating that some officers and soldiers in the Pingtung base experienced gastrointestinal symptoms one after another in the afternoon. After being transferred to the hospital for treatment, except for some of them, the rest of the symptoms have been relieved and have returned to recuperate.

  The Air Force Command stated that at present, the unit has kept the food samples and notified the Pingtung County Health Bureau, and will fully cooperate with the epidemic investigation and inspection in the future to clarify the reasons for the discomfort of the personnel.
